The Micro Clock MKIII is the culmination of almost 10 years of research involving jitter-reducing, harmonic-enhancing design techniques not found in any other master word clocks on the market. It not only can sync all of your digital audio gear together, but can significantly improve the sound quality as well. It may be the most significant single upgrade you can make to your digital audio setup. Get ready to hear what you’ve been missing!

Controls left to right (see pic 3 for front and pic 4 for rear)

  1. POWER: engage to turn unit on, disengage to turn unit off
  2. DISPLAY CONTRAST: engage to dim display, disengage to brighten display
  3. FREQUENCY (kHz): rotate three clicks at a moderate speed to unlock and cycle through output frequencies as indicated on the display
  1. BNC Out: 5V, 75Ω output; termination is optional (44.1kHz – 384kHz)
  2. S/PDIF Out: unbalanced RCA output (44.1kHz – 192kHz)
  3. Optical Out: optical S/PDIF output; does not support ADAT (44.1kHz – 96kHz)
  4. AES Out: balanced XLR output (44.1kHz – 192kHz)
  5. DC In: 9VDC center pin positive, input jack

dB says

Everybody knows that larger setups of converters sound way better if clocked by a single clocking source, not serially – heaven forbid – but parallel with proper termination after each and every component.

I find the BLA Micro Clock unbeatable in this respect for 2 simple reasons:
1) The clock is formidable, no complaints whatsoever. Even our decadent and far to expenisve BURL Mothership will sound way better if clocked from the BLA than internally. Way better that is.
2) The BLA Microclock offers a total of 9 Outputs, 6 BNC plus one AES, spdif and optical each.
Whatever digital gear your customers may take to your studio to be incorporated in a session, you will never run out of resources to clock it all perfectly in no time.

Total no brainer.
Just get one.
